The most recent iteration of this course was held at Sacred Heart University in Spring 2017. It was designed to be cross-listed in both the History and Art History (Art & Design) departments. In my experience, this material is far more effective as a true hybrid history/art history course. The readings and paper assignments can be tweaked to accomodate either major, while the lectures combine the two. Art and history are treated separately for the first four weeks, and then integrated after that point.
